i heart auburn

so, today i finally watched the video of matt lauer calling foy. and it made me realize how much i really do love auburn. i know i've written about this before, but there is just something about auburn. maybe it's because growing up, it was instilled in me that auburn was the best. maybe it's the 4 years that i spent there...the friends i made...the experiences i had...the football games we won...the things i learned.

i don't know.

but i do know that i love auburn. i love the sea of orange that engulfs the city on game day. i love the sound of 87,451 auburn fans shouting war eagle at kick-off. i love the traditions...like rolling toomer's corner, tiger walk, and the eagle flying before the game. i love seeing people with auburn attire on and saying war eagle. i love the auburn creed. i love singing the fight song after we score a touchdown.

here is a quote from the plainsman that says it better than i can....

"your time spent at auburn is not just about the education you receive — it is about what it means to be an auburn tiger.

david housel, auburn’s former athletic director, was once asked to tell what auburn is in the auburn football illustrated. this is what he said: “it is a spirit. it is an attitude. it is a way of looking at life and at one another. it is, almost, a way of living. unless you have experienced it, you will never know what it is; you will never understand it. once you have experienced it, you will never be the same. a part of you will, forevermore, be an auburn man or an auburn woman.”

i really do believe in auburn and love it.
