because i get to put up a christmas tree with ornaments that have lots of memories.
because i love the color red and at christmas time...everywhere is decorated with red and green and that makes me happy.
making cookies! i made sugar cookies yesterday. however...it isn't as much fun to make them by yourself. i only made 2 batches, and i got tired of them. so i froze the rest of the dough.
because usually it is cold outside.
generally...people are nicer during the christmas season.
because one of my sister's favorite christmas songs is i want a hippopotamus for christmas, and she always does quite the dance when she sings it.
because christmas songs and hymns are playing on the radio, in stores, and on my computer all the time, and they make me happy.
you can usually find some good sales! and i am always hunting a bargain.
because i get to spend some time with my family...away from my job.
because i get to give and get presents. there is just something fun about shopping to find the best presents for the ones you love. oh...and we get to play dirty santa and fight for the best presents.
because i get to eat dressing...and apple cheese...and corn...and turkey...and sausage balls...and lots of other good food. and because it's christmas, i don't feel too guilty about eating it.
and i guess probably the most important reason is the hope and joy that christmas brings. to think of God coming to us in the form of us...experiencing what we experience, feeling what we feel...to just be with us. hope is born anew because our Savior was born.
there's just something about the christmas story. God becoming human to reconcile the world...bringing hope and comfort and joy. i guess this is probably what i love about christmas the most. it's just all about Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior.
